Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering expertise is engaged throughout the entire product development process from concept through product first production.

Mechanical engineers work closely with electrical engineers to carefully partition product function, emphasizing modular design for manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability.

DDG mechanical engineers are Solidworks certified professionals with broad expertise.

Structural Analysis

DDG mechanical engineers perform structural analysis on all client products to determine the effects of loads on the critical physical product structures. Product structures subject to this type of analysis include mounts, brackets, castings, molded and machined parts. Factors that affect the strength of the product structures include geometry, material bends, temperature/ pressure conditions, and the selected material properties.

Special computer software, such as "Solidworks Simulation'' is employed for structural analysis. Solidworks uses FEA (Finite Element Analysis) methods to model the behavior of components or assemblies when a load is applied. A visual model is produced allowing quick and intuitive analysis to ensure the product structure is sound.
